NA President: Malaysian PM's Visit Will Strengthen Cambodia-Malaysia Friendship

PHNOM PENH: The President of the National Assembly of Cambodia, Heng Samrin, has stated that he believes the Malaysian Prime Minister's short visit to Cambodia will further strengthen the friendship between Cambodia and Malaysia, which has existed for more than 60 years.

During an official state visit to Cambodia on Monday, 27 March 2023, the Prime Minister of Malaysia, Anwar bin Ibrahim, paid a courtesy visit to the Cambodian National Assembly President, Heng Samrin.

Prime Minister Anwar bin Ibrahim stressed that his visit to Cambodia will contribute to the strengthening of cooperation between the two countries in both the legislative and executive branches.

The Cambodian National Assembly President also noted that the two governments have good cooperation in bilateral, regional and international frameworks.

He noted that the two countries' parliaments also support each other on various regional and global inter-parliamentary forums, in addition to cooperating within the framework of the National Assembly Friendship Group to exchange experiences on legislative work.

National Assembly President Heng Samrin additionally thanked the Malaysian government and people for their contribution to the peace and development process in Cambodia.
